Charlie is back!

This is the second year that Charlie has visited us from the North Pole. Last year J really got excited about seeing Charlie everyday and told everyone that you can't touch him or he'll lose his magic. She was super excited to find him on our Christmas tree the other morning! Since both of mine are still really small (and I don't trust them!) Charlie tends to find spot that are out of reach of little hands! Thanks goodness Charlie is not a naughty elf, nor is he messy. I don't need anything else to clean up after. The girls are too young to completely understand any mischeivious deeds. They get more enjoyment out of seeing Charlie doing things that they enjoy doing. The first morning he arrived in our Christmas tree with a note from Santa.
The next morning he appeared in the refridgerator. Every morning, that's the first place the girls go....to get their milk cups. Charlie was waiting on them in there. It was really hot and muggy here in south Arkansas the day before, so Charlie was way out of his element. Guess the cold made him feel more at home.
Charlie chose to hang out with the K-cups the next morning. I was up with a sick Savannah, so I'm glad Charlie was offering my favorite...Pumpkin Spice!
The next morning Charlie came bearing a gift! Last year we used our TiVo Roamio DVR to record the Elf Story and watched it daily. I have yet to be able to find it in the TV listing this season. Charlie must've known how much Jillian enjoyed his movie because he brought her the DVD so she can watch any time she wants to! Thanks Charlie. We've watched it twice daily since you brought it.
The next morning, I woke in a panic! Since I'd been up with Savannah so many nights, I fell asleep with the girls. I was completely suprised to find Charlie on the sign hanging above the mantle. Elf magic at work!
Jilli looks forward to seeing where Charlie decides to land each morning. Stay tuned to see where Charlie ends up next!

What would we do without TiVo??

We can't live without our TiVo! Jillian's favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and unfortunately, it doesn't come on 24/7. She thinks it should though! We keep several episodes saved on the Tivo so that she can watch whenever she wants to. This is especially helpful at bedtime since she likes to watch "just one Mickey Mouse" before she goes to bed. I rarely have a chance to sit down and watch TV shows at the time that they are really on TV. Usually I'm giving baths, getting the baby to sleep, doing laundry, etc. Once the girls are asleep, I FINALLY get some time to catch up on my shows. Without TiVo I'd never be able to keep up with Big Brother or So You Think You Can Dance!!! I've been a TiVo fan since the very first boxes came out...they only recorded 1 channel at a time and didn't hold very many episodes. I remember how excited I was when the dual channel boxes were released. That's what we have now, but I got an email yesterday telling about the TiVo Roamio DVR, and now I want one of those! According to the model that you buy, you can record up to 6 channels and store up to 3000 hours of TV! The new fall premieres will start before long and being able to record 6 channel at once will ensure you don't miss anything. Right now TiVo is offering $50 off any TiVo Roamio purchase. I'm seriously thinking about an upgrade!

Life with daughters

These 2 girls keep me BUSY and TIRED, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I knew that having 2 so young would be a handful (but maybe didn't realize how much of a handful??) and I'm just now beginning to feel as if I have things under control. Jillian is such a wonderful big sister and such a great helper. I love to watch the two girls interact. Savannah is facisnated with her big sister and watches her every move. She thinks Jillian is sooo funny and just laughs anytime Jillian talks to her. I hope that they'll always like each other so much!

I'm a princess....in my daughters eyes at least.

We have one of those digital photo frames that flashes different pictures. Jillian loves to look at it, and she likes to name everyone in the pictures. There's some wedding pictures, some maternity pictures from her pregnancy, some pics of Jillian, and some maternity pictures from Savannah's pregnancy. The other day a picture of me in my wedding dress popped up and as usual, she said, "Mama." Then she looked at me and said, "Mama. Princess." Melted my heart. I suppose it's the dress, but it's sweet that she thinks I'm a princess in that picture!

I'm so amazed at the things Jillian has learned in her short 19 months here with us! She surprises me every day and over the past 2 weeks has really begun putting 2 words together to communicate. I love when she runs to where I'm sitting be says, "Mama, lap." I know there will soon be a day that she no longer wants to sit near me let alone in my lap. I love our sweet snuggle time. She's got such a sweet spirit and I hope that's something that will stay with her throughout her life. She says "thank you" unprompted and just last night after dropping the remote on the floor she looked at me and said, "Sorra Mama". She's going to be a great big sister!!
